LessonNote is developed and operated by Lesson Study Alliance (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using LessonNote (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”).
LessonNote can be used to take pictures of students (including minors) and of student work, and to otherwise collect data regarding student learning. The user is responsible for handling such photos and data in accordance with local laws regarding student privacy.
You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and school district policies related to student data, consent, and photography.
The App may be used for teacher observation, feedback, or evaluation purposes. Any conclusions, ratings, or decisions based on App data are the sole responsibility of the user (administrator, coach, etc.). We are not liable for any employment decisions, performance evaluations, or professional consequences arising from use of the App.
If you previously created an account on pro.lessonnote.com and uploaded data there, the App may connect to pro.lessonnote.com solely to download data you previously stored there. Uploads to that server are not possible from the current version of the App. We do not guarantee the availability of legacy data and are not responsible for any loss or corruption of that data. The server may cease to operate after 15 September, 2026.
The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the App will be error‑free, secure, or uninterrupted. Installing updates can create risk of loss of data; the user is responsible for backing up important data.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lesson Study Alliance shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss, lost profits, or harm resulting from use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any).

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. International users agree that Illinois law applies notwithstanding their local jurisdiction.
If these terms change, you will be required to agree to those changes before you will be able to use the app.
