June 18-27 and November 12-21
LEVEL 2 DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JULY 31
IMPULS-Japan (International Math-teacher Professionalization Using Lesson Study) and Lesson Study Alliance are again offering their popular Lesson Study Immersion Programs in Japan in 2024.
These programs offer educators a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in authentic mathematics Lesson Study in Japan. Participants will observe several mathematics lessons developed through Lesson Study in elementary and secondary schools and observe how Japanese teachers conduct their post-lesson discussions. All research lessons and post-lesson discussions will be simultaneously translated into English by experts in mathematics teaching and learning. In addition, participants will have opportunities to interact with teachers, students, and education professors from schools and universities in Japan.
IMPULS Immersion programs have been offered annually since 2012 (except 2020 & 2021). Nearly 400 educators from 15 countries have participated. They have described it as a life-changing experience and have used their experience to support colleagues in implementing Lesson Study in their schools and home countries.
The two programs are:
- PROGRAM FULL

Cost: $4,000 USD. - Level 2 (November 12-21): designed for educators with first-hand experience of Lesson Study to develop leadership capacity. Cost: $4,500 USD.
